Joseph Albert Cash

Cowpens, SC – Joseph A. Cash, 79, husband of the late Claudette Edwards Cash, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Joe was born November 15, 1932 to the late Albert Lee and Thelma Swofford Cash. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. He was retired from INA Bearing and was a Ham Radio operator (KD4ZWT). Joe was a lifelong member and deacon of Mount Olive Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. He leaves behind a daughter, Teresa Harrison of Cowpens; two sons, Stuart Cash of Cowpens, and Alex Cash of Falls Church, VA; and four grandchildren, Cheslea Harrison of Cowpens and Andrew, Brian, and Michelle Cash of Falls Church, VA. In addition to his wife, Joe was predeceased by his sister, Alice C. Allen of San Diego, CA. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M, Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Sanctuary. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Dr. Reverend Robert W. Kirby, Jr., Reverend Dennis Spencer, and Reverend Bobby McFalls. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In remembrance of Joe, flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 250 Mt. Olive Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
