Aubrey “Lee” Pointer

SPARTANBURG, SC – Aubrey Lee Pointer, 79, husband of Ellen Hickey Pointer, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Lee was born on September 7, 1932 in Birmingham, AL to the late Aubrey Lee and Georgia Mae Belcher Pointer, Sr. He was a member of Jesus, Our Risen Savior Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by four daughters, Karen Pointer, Donna Cassella, Theresa Scarpone, Jamie Avery; a brother, Milton Pointer; Brother-in-law, Robert Hickey; four sisters, Loyce Clark, Doris Van Tassell, Tiny Worsham, and Dot Williams. Lee was blessed with six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Jesus, Our Risen Savior Catholic Church. Interment will be at Graceland East Memorial Park, Simpsonville. Following the burial, the family will be at the home of Dot Williams, 108 Blue Ridge Dr., Travelers Rest, SC. In lieu of flowers, Lee wished for memorials to be made to the St. Francis Inn, C/O Fr. Michael Duffy OFM, 2441 Kensington Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19125
