Spartanburg, SC – Lawrence Harrison, 88, husband of the late Janelle Floyd Harrison, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
Lawrence was born on September 8, 1923 in the Walnut Grove Community of Spartanburg to the late Lawrence H. and Lula Thomas Harrison. He honorably served his country in the US Army and retired as a long haul driver for McLean Trucking. Lawrence was a lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three sons, Danny Harrison (Emily) of Roebuck, Donnie Harrison of Spartanburg, Robbie Harrison (Susan) of Greenville; his daughter, Lynn H. Bailey (Mac) of Lyman; a brother, H.G. “Speed” Harrison of Walnut Grove; a sister, Betty Newman of Walnut Grove; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his family, Lawrence leaves behind his close companion Betty Houk.
He was predeceased by six brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, conducted by Reverend Richard Thomas, Reverend Kevin Harrison, and Reverend Mark Kozak.
Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
