Walter Jason Richards

Woodruff, SC- Walter Jason Richards, 76, husband of Harriett Ducker Richards, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Walter was born July 15, 1936 in Woodruff, SC to the late David and Rosa Hall Richards. Walter was an avid gardener who loved sports, especially Byrnes High School sports. He was also a member of the Church of God. In addition to his wife of 52 years, Walter is survived by two sons, Mike Richards and his wife Rita of Boiling Springs, SC, and Scott Richards of Woodruff, SC; one sister, Bobbie Phillips and her husband Eddie of Spartanburg; one granddaughter, Allison Paige Richards; and one great grandchild, Ahmari. He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends Friday, December 21, 2012, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, December 22, 2012, 2:00pm in the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Buster Ball and Reverend John Petty. The burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff.
