Lena Bailey Bassano

Spartanburg, SC- Lena Amelia Bailey Bassano, 86, widow of Louis Anthony Bassano, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Summit Hills after a brief illness. Born June 10, 1926 in Orange, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lee J. Bailey and Estella Gardner Bailey Falk. She retired from Dresser Ingersoll Rand Corp. of Olean, NY. She lived and worked for Dresser Industries in Olean, NY, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Queretaro, Mexico. Surviving are her daughters, Lora Lou Bassano of the home and Melody Allen Gado (Jerry) of Spartanburg; and her grandson, David Anthony Bassano of Cape Cod, MA. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony Walter Bassano. A memorial service will be held today, Thursday, January 17, 2013, 3:00pm at Summit Hills in the Senate Lounge, 110 Summit Hills Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A visitation will follow the service. In remembrance of Lena, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
