Gary Wilton Holder

Inman, SC- Gary Wilton Holder, 80, husband of Rachel Corn Holder, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Born June 9, 1932 in Startex, SC, Mr. Holder was the son of the late John Deaston and Minnie Lee Rodgers Holder. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant and retired after 20 years of service, which included two tours of service in Vietnam. Mr. Holder also retired from Sulzer after 17 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian Holder (Linda), a step-son, J. Dwayne Corn (Lesley), a step-daughter, Melissa Bradley (Steven), all of Spartanburg; ten step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews whom were all very dear to him. Mr. Holder is predeceased by his first wife, Lois Prichard Holder; and a sister, Ruth Anne Holder Pearson and her husband, Woodrow. The family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2013, 12:00-1:45 PM at Bethel Assembly of God, 561 Upper Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, SC. A funeral service with military honors will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend James Cencebaugh and Reverend Sal Baron. Burial will be private. The family will be at the home, 137 Wells Drive, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. In remembrance of Mr. Holder, memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Mission Fund, 561 Upper Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29316 or a charity of one’s choice.
