Martin Palmer Miller

Martin Palmer Miller Spartanburg, S.C.—Mr. Martin P. Miller, 92, husband of the late Vivian Graham Miller, entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2013 at Eden Terrace Assisted Living. He was born January 8, 1921 to the late Palmer and Rhoda Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for many years and sang in the choir. He was a man of God who has now gone on to join his wife Vivian of 68 years and the love of his life. Mr. Miller was a dedicated husband and loving father to his family. He will be remembered with both smiles and tears by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be dearly missed by his children. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are two daughters, Sue Martin (Bill) of Duncan, and Mary Wilkes Pettit of Roebuck; three grandchildren Lori Anne Morrow, Pam Gregory, and Chad Martin; in addition to his six great grandchildren who brought him much joy, Graham Morrow, John Morrow, Martin Morrow, Olivia Martin, Chloe Martin, and Samantha Gregory. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a sister, Sara Caldwell; a brother, Alan Miller; and a son-in-law, Wayne Pettit. The family would like to extend a special thank you to so many friends and acquaintances at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church for the prayers, cards, and visits over the years. Mr. Miller was constantly being held up by this caring congregation. The family will be at their respective homes. A visitation will be held at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service to celebrate Mr. Miller’s life at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary, conducted by Reverend Richard Thomas and Reverend Dr. B.E. Pettit. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Chad Martin, Rick Gregory, Chris, Graham, Martin, and John Morrow. In remembrance of Mr. Miller, memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck S.C. 29376.
