Clinton, SC- Mary Kathryn Skinner, 58, daughter of Mary Gwinn Skinner and the late Reverend E. Wilkes Skinner, died Friday, January 25, 2013.
Kathy was born December 12, 1954 in Cape Canaveral, FL. At three months old, she suffered head trauma from a fall and for the rest of her life she suffered from severe seizures. At age five, she became a resident at the Whitten Center in Clinton, SC, where she remained for the rest of her life. Kathy was a gentle soul with a very loving spirit. All who knew her and worked attending to her needs fell in love with her. She was the granddaughter of the late James Manning and Addie Lipscomb Skinner and Junior and Irene O’Shields Gwinn. She was of the southern Baptist Faith.
In addition to her mother, Kathy is survived by her brother, E. Steven Skinner and his wife, Cynthia, of Woodruff.
In addition to her father, Kathy is predeceased by a brother, James Stanley Skinner.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 28, 2013, 2:00pm at Unity Baptist Church, 4190 Walnut Grove Rd, Woodruff, SC 29388.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Unity Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Brian Burgess and Reverend Jimmy Skinner.
Interment will be in the Unity Baptist Church cemetery.
