Evelyn Smith Zimmerman

Evelyn Smith Zimmerman Spartanburg, SC- Evelyn S. Zimmerman, 87, wife of the late Samuel Franklin Zimmerman, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Evelyn was born in Spartanburg, a daughter of the late Albert M. and Lottie Mae Mitchel Smith. She was a teller, starting at the age of 18, with C&S Bank and later with SC National Bank. Evelyn played golf at Huntington Hills Country Club, was an avid reader of historical novels and the bible. She was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. Evelyn is survived by her son, Stan Zimmerman and his wife, Pamela Strom, of Marietta, GA and a brother, William H. Smith and his wife, Gail of Clemson, SC A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Todd Lowe and Dr. Keith Taylor. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In remembrance of Evelyn, memorials may be made to Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 140 Cedar Spring Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
