Mary Janda Dereng

Woodruff, SC- Mary J. Dereng, 93, wife of the late Rupert Paul Dereng, died Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born August 6, 1919 in Chicago, IL, Mary was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Janda. She loved to travel, play cards, and was a member of Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary is survived by her daughter, Janet D. Novosel (Frank) of Barrington, IL; her son, Larry Dereng (Nancy) of Woodruff; her grandchildren, Katie Hamblett (Jason), and Sara Dereng; and her great grandchildren, Aubry, Peyton, and Jacob Hamblett. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Bruno and Henry Janda. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 9th, 11:30am-12:30pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow, 1:30pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, 2575 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
