Spartanburg, SC- Abbie B. Croxdale, 91, wife of the late Howard W. Croxdale, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Abbie was born September 21, 1921 in Fort Valley, GA to the late Samuel Richard Bozeman and Pernie Garrett Bozeman Lee. She retired from Mayfair Mills, Bailey Plant. Abbie was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church for over 60 years and was also a member of the Fidilis Sunday School class. Abbie is survived by son, David “Gene” Croxdale and his wife, Janice, of Spartanburg, and their children, Michelle Morgan (Paul) of Mt. Pleasant, Chris, and Charlie Croxdale, and Crystal Hensley of Spartanburg; son, Danny Ray Croxdale of Spartanburg, and his son, Chris Simpson of Plantation, FL; her daughter, Sherry C. Sossamon and her husband, Cody, of Gaffney, and their children, Katie S. Howell (Jon) of Goose Creek, SC, Paul Davis and Abbie Sossamon of Gaffney, and Lou Sossamon of Greenville; four great grandchildren, Benson Hughes, Camp Howell, Claire, and Evan Morgan; and her brother, Johnny Lee. She is predeceased by three sisters, Helen Appolito, Norma Hiller, and Ollie Clovich. Crypt side services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, 1pm at Greenlawn Heritage Mausoleum, officiated by Reverend Richard D. King. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Greenlawn Heritage Chapel. The family would like to give a special thanks to her friend, Mrs. Aileen Brown, the staff at Magnolia Assisted Living, and Hospice Compassus. In remembrance of Abbie, memorials may be made to Ben Avon Baptist Church, 2437 Wallace Ave., Sptbg, SC 29302, or Hospice Compassus, 212 E. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, SC 29340. The family will be at their respected homes.
