Evelyn Wright Hughey

Evelyn W. Hughey Spartanburg- Evelyn Wright Hughey, 87, widow of Harry Jackson Hughey Sr., died Saturday, April 13, 2013. Evelyn was born in Parrish Alabama in 1925, a daughter of the late Luther and Bessie Steadman Wright She retired after 34 years from Sears. Evelyn was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC Evelyn is survived by her daughter Linda Pritcher and her husband Roger, a son, Harry “Mickey” Hughey, both of Spartanburg. She is survived by brothers, Joe Wright and Robert Wright and sisters, Betty Bridges and Jewel Douglas, all of Birmingham, AL Also surviving are Evelyn’s grandson, Joe Riddle of Chapin, SC and granddaughters, Rachel Gregory of Clemson, and Caroline Sweeney of Spartanburg. She leaves behind 5 Great- Grandchildren. The family received friends at the Dunbar Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Graveside Services will be held at Welford Baptist Church Cemetery today, Monday, April 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM , officiated by Reverend Josh Gregory In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Evelyn’s honor to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
