Brian Stanley Czechowski

August 26, 1956 — April 14, 2013

Spartanburg, SC- Brian S. Czechowski, 56, husband of Carolye Maerker Czechowski, died Sunday morning at home after a courageous battle against brain cancer, April 14, 2013. Brian was born August 26, 1956 to Geraldine Congelosi Czechowski and the late Thaddeus Czechowski in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School, class of 1974, and a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisburg, VA. Brian was employed by Marriott International, Inc. for 26 years. During that time, he was named Area Director of Operations for Central and Southern Asia, headquartered in Hong Kong, and General Manager of the Sydney Harbor Marriott in Australia. He also was the opening General Manager for the Spartanburg Marriott, Renaissance Park. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, and snow skiing with family. Brian and Carolye returned to Spartanburg because of their extended family at Westminster Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, Brian is survived by his daughter, Brett Czechowski at Clemson University; three sisters, Lisa Glanz (Todd) of Orlando, FL, Jill Logé (Dave), and Dina Potenza (Mark), both of Lewiston, NY. He was predeceased by his son, Chad A. Czechowski on April 7, 2006. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17th, 2-3pm, in the sanctuary, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation, officiated by Reverend Dr. Paul W. Petersen. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Heritage Mausoleum. In remembrance of Brian, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Peru Fund, 309 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
