Geraldine "Gerri" Bordenkircher

Cowpens, SC- Geraldine Bordenkircher, 69, wife of Kenneth Bordenkircher, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Gerri was born November 17, 1943 in Greenville, to the late O. E. and Lillie Bayne Gaines. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Mema” to her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Martin Burnett of Spartanburg, Michael Burnett (Melanie) of Moore, and Steven Burnett (Elizabeth) of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren, Cory, Lee, Brandon, Matthew, Taylor, Courtney, Hannah, and Alex Burnett, all of Spartanburg; two great grandchildren; three step children, Thomas Bordenkircher (Paula), Cynthia Harrell (Chris), and Kelle Shaw (George) all of Spartanburg; six step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; one brother, Charles Gaines (Lillian) of Inman; and several nieces and nephews. Gerri was predeceased by a twin sister, Sheraldine Huckaby (James); a brother, Leon Gaines; and a granddaughter, Michele Burnett. The family is at the home of her son, Michael Burnett. A visitation will be Tuesday, April 23rd, 6-8pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24th, 3pm at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Reid Bowyer. Interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
