Charles Ambrose DeHart

Moore, SC- Charles A. DeHart, 71, husband of Brenda Sharpe DeHart, died at home, Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Charles was born December 2, 1941 in Laurens, SC to the late David Vernon “DeDe” DeHart, Sr. and Nora “Copie” Hudgens DeHart. He was a graduate of Clemson College and honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era where he received a National Defense Service Medal. Charles was a registered professional engineer, and also a mason. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles Alan DeHart and his wife, Tricia, and Michael Scott DeHart; two grand-daughters, Emily DeHart and Whitney Exum; a brother, David Vernon DeHart, and his wife, Eugenia; a sister, Susan DeHart Bennett and her husband, Chris; a special family friend, Shay Lavender; and his poodle, Charlie. A private memorial service will be held Saturday at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend David Rhodes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Boulevard, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
