Margaret Grace "Peggy" Joyce

Spartanburg, SC- Margaret (Peggy) Grace Dunn Joyce, 73, of Summerville, SC, passed away July 26, after a battle with cancer. Peggy was born November 5, 1939 in Sigourney, IA to the late Donald Joseph and Annie Laurie Wyllie Dunn. She grew up in Manteno, IL and graduated from Illinois State Normal University. Upon graduating, she taught school in Norwalk, CA. There she met the love of her life, and subsequent husband of 51 years, Terry Joyce. She had many interests including bridge, choir, and cooking. Her children have many fond memories of horseback riding, golfing, and butterfly catching with their mother while Terry was stationed in the Philippines at Clark Air Force Base. Peggy also gracefully served as president of the Air Force Wives Club while Terry was serving in the US Air Force at McClellan Air Force Base in California. She was a charter member of St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church in Summerville. She is survived by her husband, William Terence Joyce; her daughter, Sharon Joyce Goodman and husband, Eric, of Louisville, KY; and her son, William T. Joyce III and his wife, Elizabeth, of Spartanburg. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Judith, Aaron and Sylvia Goodman of Louisville, Silas and Anna Dunn Joyce of Spartanburg; and her brother, Thomas Dunn of Bourbonnais, IL. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013, 11:00am at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church in Summerville, SC. The Family will receive friends immediately following the mass in the McManus Hall. Committal will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC.
