Spartanburg, Lonnie M. Maybin, 63, husband of Minnie Littlejohn Maybin, went home on Tuesday, July 29, 2013.
Lonnie was born January 8, 1950 to the late Jimmie Lee and Robenia Smith Maybin in Spartanburg, SC. He was a graduate of Mayes High School of Pacolet. Lonnie honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic. He was the maintenance supervisor at the Country Club of Spartanburg for many years. Lonnie was previously employed with Arrow Automotive for over 23 years. He was an active member of New Zion Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.
In addition to his wife, Lonnie is survived by one sister, Louise Woodruff Williams (Wallace) of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Eugene S. and Bobby J. Maybin of Spartanburg, SC, and James A. Maybin of Bossier City, Louisiana; one half-sister, Alice Maybin Gregory and two half-brothers, Jimmie Dean and Darryl Maybin.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Lorenzo Price, Willie Lee, Ted M., and Van Maybin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3rd at 1:00pm at New Zion Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend David Sullivan. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
