Spartanburg, SC – Mary Jane Halliday, wife of Quincy Stanford Halliday, Jr., passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles Emmett and Clara Louise Krauter French. Mrs. Halliday was a graduate of Sweet Briar. She was a member of the Tom And Tare Garden Club, The Piedmont Club and the Spartanburg Country Club. Mary Jane was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered as an avid Clemson fan, shell collector, loving wife, mother, “Grandmommy” and wonderful friend. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Halliday is survived by two sons, Quincy Stanford Halliday III (Dana) and Charles Emmett Halliday; grandchildren, Quincy (Danielle), Margo, Emilie and Emmett Halliday. She is also survived by her very special Caretakers. Mary Jane was predeceased by her brother, John Emmett French. A Graveside Funeral Service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens will be conducted on Thursday, August 8th, 11:00am. The family will be at the home of Stan Halliday, 126 Marlin Drive, Spartanburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mobile Meals, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304
