Lois Stella McDonald joined her husband, Kenneth, in heaven, on August 24, 2013.
Everyone affectionately knew her has “Mema”. She was born on July 01, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan,
but was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Mema loved the Lord and dedicated her life to her faith, family, friends, and serving others. She was an amazing woman, from humble beginnings, who was truly blessed to live and enjoy time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She prayed for every member of her family, calling each one by name, every morning. In the final years of her life, she enjoyed sharing stories of all of the “kids”, while drinking hot tea and nibbling on maple cookies. The mischievous kids were always her favorite, because Mema had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to laugh. Mema was also an excellent cook, and famous for her spaghetti and meatballs, made from scratch.
Lois “Mema” is survived by her children and their spouses, Gordon McDonald (Glenda),
Ken McDonald(Nelly), Bob McDonald, and Sandra Evans; grandchildren and their spouses,
Kimberly McDonald-Walden (David), Jeff McDonald (Amber), Dwayne McDonald (Staci),
Tammy Wingo (Jeff), Scott McDonald, Todd McDonald (Regina), Rob McDonald (Shannon),
David McDonald (Carmel), Natasha McDonald, and Jonathan McDonald (Marianne);
and 16 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Calvary Christian Church, in Surrey, BC, Canada, on Thursday,
