Spartanburg, SC- Jessie R. Tallent, 76, husband of Rebecca Bradley Tallent, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
Born June 10, 1937 in Landrum, SC, he was a son of the late Amos and Valree Taylor Tallent. Jessie honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a foundry worker by trade and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
In May of 2004, Jessie was predeceased by a son, Mark Tallent, and is survived by his children, Kellie T. Brown (Andy), Mercedes Tallent, Lee Tallent (Amanda), and Brandon Tallent (Karen). Jessie is also survived by a son, Jimmy Tallent (Stephanie) and their daughter, Lacey; daughter, Lisa T. Godfrey and her children, Melissa Berry, Joshua and Angel Godfrey; a daughter, Kandi T. Balmer (Richard) and their children, Austin and Jacob; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Johnny Tallent (Amy), Wayne Tallent (Ann), and Jerry Tallent (Angie); and one sister, Dee Byars (Harry).
He was predeceased by two brothers, Joe and Paul Tallent.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 3rd, 5:30-7:30pm at Emanuel Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be Friday, October 4th, 2:00pm at Emanuel Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Frankie Taylor, Reverend David Maddox, and Reverend Ray Robinson.
Burial will be held in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
