Lyman, SC - Joesph M. Bock, 94, resident of Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC, passed away Saturday October 26, 2013 at the Village at Pelham.
Mr. Bock was born February 3, 1949 in Bluefield, WV to the late Joseph M. and Lena Hall Bock.
He attended Palatka High School in Palatka, FL and joined the Marines in 1938. Mr. Bock was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired with 30 years of service. He was a resident of Sebastian, FL, prior to relocating to the Spartanburg Area.
Survivors include daughter Shirley B. Moore-Tipi (Bruce) of Moore, granddaughter Melanie Moore Bhyne (Bill) and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, and Will of Pauline; and his brother, Clarence Bill Martin (Peggy) of Pascagoula, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Tom Bock and Archer Martin, both of Florida.
The family will receive friends Tuesday October 29, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 12:45PM at the Roebuck Baptist church. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams and Reverend Bob Aho.
A private burial with Military Honors will follow at Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, SC.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of Ashlan Village for their professionalism and care they extended to Mr. Bock.
