John Lewis McDade

Spartanburg, SC- John L. McDade, 83, husband of the late Margarette Elizabeth Beaty McDade, died Monday, November 11, 2013. John was born February 9, 1930 in Lockhart, SC to the late Oscar Thomas and Ferdia Dotson McDade. He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard Reserve. John retired after 17 years of service with Waste Management, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia. He is survived by a niece, Vickie H. Ripaldi (Thomas) of Moore, SC; two nephews, Steve McDade and Jan Johnson, both of Spartanburg, SC; several other nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his long time canine companion, Jake. John was predeceased by two sisters, Willie McDade Stribling and Hazel McDade Brown; and one brother, Oscar Thomas McDade, II. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, November 15th, 3:00pm, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Joey Burnett.
