John Kenneth Bishop

John Kenneth Bishop Inman, SC – John Kenneth Bishop, 69, husband of Sandra Mills Bishop, died November 24, 2013. Kenneth was born in Spartanburg on June 4, 1944 to Eloise Kelly Bishop and the late John Alvin Bishop. He was a volunteer with the Spartanburg City Police Department, Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, Landrum City Police Department and also served as Interim Police Chief for the Campobello Police Department. Kenneth retired from Allstate Insurance Company after 23 years of service. In addition to his wife and mother, Kenneth is survived by a son, Christopher Bishop of Greer; two daughters, Jennifer B. Atwell (Mike) of Greer, Tonya Membreno (Tony) of Chicago, IL; four brothers, Dennis Bishop (Linda) of Walnut Grove, Jerry Bishop (Cindy) of Roebuck, Tommy Bishop of China Grove, NC and Richard Bishop (Michelle) of Inman. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Emily Ginther, Natalie Atwell, Edwin and Celeste Membreno. Kenneth was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Bishop and a sister, Jackie Barnette. The family will receive friends form 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Tommy Turner In remembrance of Kenneth, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association; 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311. The family is at the home.
