Carol Foster Meyer

Moore, SC- Carol Meyer, 61, wife of William “Bill” Meyer, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013. Born in Tryon, NC, Carol was a daughter of Doris Ponder Burns. She was a former Life Reach flight nurse for Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC, and was currently a RN in the critical care unit for Greenville Hospital Systems in Greenville, SC. Carol was a master gardener who judged rose trials at the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by three sons, Creighton Kelly, Jr. (Wendy) of Roswell, GA, Chad Kelly (Dorothy) of LaGrange, GA, and Cameron Kelly (Kim) of Columbia, SC; a step daughter, Stephanie Rayman (Sean) of Cayce, SC; a step son, William “Bill” Meyer (Lisa) of Columbia, SC; a brother, Marty Pittman (Sandy) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Linda Wydysh (Dave) of Highpoint, NC, and Cindy Pittman Smith (Mike) of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren; a niece; and many nephews. Carol was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Stewart and Ruth Hayes Bradshaw. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14th, 6:00-8:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 15th, 1:00pm at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC. In memory of Carol, memorials may be made to the Sherriff’s Office Chaplain’s Benevolence Fund, 8045 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
