Spartanburg, SC- Edna B. O’Shields, 82, wife of the late Wiley G. S. O’Shields, died Saturday, December 14, 2013.
Born December 17, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Ollie Lewis Boyter and Barbara Kirby Boyter. After graduating from Duncan High School, Edna worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier for 20 years. In addition, she was also an AVON representative for over 40 years. Her favorite hobbies were fishing and gardening. Edna was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist church where she was actively involved, including teaching Sunday school at Midway Boarding Home.
Edna is survived by her son, Mark O’Shields (Sherry); her daughter, Sandi O’Shields Turner (Michael) both of Moore; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by four brothers, Leland, Eugene, Henry, and Malcolm Boyter; and her sister, Barbara B. Edmonds.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 16th, 6:00-8:00pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 17th, 11:00am at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
