William Ray "Bill" Sinclair

Spartanburg, SC- Bill Sinclair, 82, husband of the late Elsie L. Sinclair, died Sunday, December 22, 2013. Born October 19, 1931 in Union, SC, Bill was a son of the late William Robert and Lillian Daugherty Sinclair. He was a graduate of West Springs High School, class of 1949, and a graduate of LSU School of Banking of the South, class of 1968. Mr. Sinclair was retired after 40 years of service with SCN/Wachovia Bank. He was a 50 year member and past President of Spartanburg Lions Club, and a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer for many years and on the board of trustees. Bill was also past President and current Vice President of the H.F. Chreitzberg Sunday school class. Bill is survived by his sons, Phil Sinclair (Vicki) of Spartanburg, SC, and Tony Sinclair (Jill) of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Stan Sinclair (Karen) of Columbia, SC, and Steve Sinclair (Jackie) of Union, SC; a sister, Jane Sinclair Fowler (David) of Union, SC; and five grandchildren, Phillip Sinclair of Spartanburg, SC, John Sinclair of Columbia, SC, Will Sinclair of Spartanburg, Katie Beth Sinclair Rogers (Brandon) of Clemson, SC, and Sarah Sinclair of Frederick, MD. He was predeceased by a son, Michael C. Sinclair; a brother, Robert “Junior” Sinclair; and three sisters, Clara Sinclair Lunsford, Peggy Sinclair, and Mary Sinclair Stevens. A private graveside service was held Monday, December 23, 2013, 3:30pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, December 27th, 2:00-2:45pm at Bethel United Methodist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service in the sanctuary at 3pm.
