Moore, SC- Jim Freeman, 91, husband of the late Mary Ann Freeman, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
Born November 10, 1922 in Walton County, GA, Jim was the son of the late James Ezra and Lena Winslett Freeman. He was a graduate of Monroe High School in Monroe, GA, class of 1941, and went on the attend at the University of Denver after honorably serving his country in the US Army Air Force during WWII. Jim was an active member at Roebuck Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and he was also a member of the adult choir and a baritone singer in the men’s quartet.
Jim is survived by his son, Mark Freeman (Angie) of Forest City, NC; his daughter, Patricia Freeman Broaddus (Michael) of Lexington, KY; two grandsons, Samuel and Aaron Broaddus of Lexington, KY; one sister, Mrs. Norma Johnston of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim was predeceased by a sister, Frances Young.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014, 2:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A private burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
