David C. Hopson, Sr.

Spartanburg, SC- David Charles Hopson, Sr., 61, husband of Kay Fisher Hopson, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born July 10, 1952 in Asheville, NC, David was a son of the late Daniel Frank and Viola Crisp Hopson. He honorably served his country in the US Army, was a long time employee of Eagle Transport, and was a member and deacon at Solid Rock Church. David will be remembered for his contagious humor and his love for the Lord. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son, David Hopson, Jr. of Boiling Springs; his daughter, Lynda Alexander of Roebuck; two step-sons; one step-daughter; one brother; four sisters; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and family member and companion, Rocky. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 9th, 1:00-2:30pm at Solid Rock Church. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Reverend Randy Lewis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Solid Rock Church, 1326 Union Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
