Marilyn "Lynn" Gates Harrelson

Spartanburg, SC- Marilyn Harrelson, 61, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Born January 19, 1953 in Alexandria Bay, NY, she was the daughter of Helen M. Compton and the late Richard Thomas Gates. Lynn was a disabled Veteran of the US Army. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Lynn is survived by her husband, James H. Harrelson; her children, Sara, Emily, and Thomas Harrelson, all of Spartanburg, SC; four siblings, Donna Turner of Cayce, SC, Gail Gates of Campobello, SC, Sara Gates of Snowflake, AZ, and Neil Gates of Offenburg, NY; four grandchildren, Cassidy, T.J., Alicia, and Seble; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Friday, February 21st, 3:00pm. The family will be at the home.
