Peggy Lee Jennings
Spartanburg – Peggy Lee Jennings passed away on February 20, 2014.
Peggy was born on February 19, 1951, in Roanoke, VA, to the late Roy Merritt and Viola Jennings Jennings. She was a 31 year resident of the Charles Lea System where she was in the Learning Hands Class of the Parsons Adult Day Program. Peggy was also enrolled in the USC Upstate college enrichment program. She was of the Baptist faith. Peggy loved to sing, dance, and especially loved country music. She enjoyed the beach and being in the ocean and lived an active life.
Peggy is survived by her sister, Connie Jennings Yates and her husband Don of Spartanburg; three nephews, Bill Yates (Debbie) of Austin, TX, David Yates (Jennifer) of Spartanburg, Scott Yates (Claudia) of Herndon, VA; four grand nephews and two grand nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the chapel of Fernwood Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Dean Allen.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel.
Interment will be in the Clover Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery; Nathalie, VA at a later date.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to her extended family, the many caregivers that have shown love to Peggy and that she has loved in return these 31 years.
