Donald Lee Matthews Spartanburg, SC- Donald Matthews, 61, died Monday, February 24, 2014. Born February 2, 1953 in Spartanburg, SC, Donald was a son of the late Roy Junior and Minnie Mae Sweezy Matthews. He was a graduate of Dorman High School, Class of 1972, and attended USC. Donald was a member of the Arcadia Lodge #285. Donald is survived by his daughter, Linda Michelle Matthews; son in-law, Brian Schutz; four brothers, Kenneth, Dennis, and Jimmy Matthews, and Doyle Stephens; and one sister, Linda Brewer Pitts. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine Irene Matthews; and one sister, Juanita Hamby. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 26th, 6:00-8:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 27th, 11:00am at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Brad Goodale and Reverend Kenneth Cash. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. The family will be at the home.
