Maurice G. Cox Sr.
Spartanburg- Maurice Glenn Cox Sr., 84, affectionately known as “Greasy”, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
Maurice was a son of the late Marvin Glenn and Marie Jamison Cox. He honorably served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corp. Maurice was a realtor for over 50 years, a member of Morningside Baptist Church, a former member of the Sertoma Club, an avid supporter of Wofford Athletics, and an avid Little League Coach.
Maurice is survived by his three sons, Glenn Cox (Melanie) of Spartanburg; Jamison “Bubba” Cox (Carrie) of Charleston; and Robert Cox (Cristen) of Spartanburg.
He is also survived by grandchildren Tony and Tawney Bevacqua, Marnie Baxter, Chance, Hamilton, Deacon, and Brian Cox; and one great granddaughter Marley Bevacqua. Maurice was previously married to Iris Gentry Ezell and Kay Cox.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home.
A memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Bob Morgan.
