Richard G. Worthy

Moore, SC- Richard Worthy, 79, husband of Betty Weatherley Worthy, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Richard was born September 18, 1934 in Lockhart, SC. He was the son of the late Gaither M. and Lee Annie Carter Worthy. Richard honorably served his country in the United States Airforce and was a member of the American Legion. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Richard became a pharmacist and later retired from CVS Pharmacy. He served as a Deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Richard is survived by his son, David Worthy and his wife, Patricia; his daughter, Rhonda Young and her husband, Scott; two grandchildren, Justin Moore and Hope Young; and his sister, Willie P. Carter. The family will receive friends Friday, March 28th, 1:00-1:45pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services with military honors will follow at 2:00pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Reverend Jason Lee. In remembrance of Richard, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 350 N.
