Kathryn Elizabeth Layton Roberts Crisp

Pauline, SC- Kathryn Roberts Crisp, 73, wife of the late Reuben Dean Roberts, Sr., and Earlie E. Crisp, Sr., died Saturday, March 29, 2014. Born August 8, 1940 in Spartanburg, SC, Kathryn was a daughter of the late Willis Nelson and Martha Elizabeth Shands Layton. She was a graduate of Roebuck High School, class of 1958, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Kathryn is survived by her sons, Dean Roberts (Kathy), J. R. Crisp (Harriett), and William Crisp (Amanda); three sisters, Estelle Pruitt, Emily Cook, and Virginia Bright; four grandchildren, Adam and Nelson Crisp, Katie and Kennedy Roberts; and two great grandchildren, Isaac and Payton White. She was predeceased by two sisters, Henrietta Garner and Peggy Layton; and one granddaughter, Christy White. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1st, 12:30-1:45pm at Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the sanctuary, beginning at 2:00pm, officiated by Reverend Brian Harris and Reverend Dr. E. Jennings Putnam. Burial will be held in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
