Spartanburg, SC- Martha L. Humphries, 91, wife of the late Oscar Melton Humphries, went home to her eternal rest on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Born April 16, 1922 in Mayo, SC, Martha was a daughter of the late Eber Lee and Roie Poteat Peahuff. She is a former member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Martha is survived by three sons, Stanley E. Humphries, John W. Humphries (Judy) of Landrum, SC, and James W. Humphries (Connie) of Pacolet, SC; two daughters, Martha G. Painter (Walden) of Roebuck, SC, and Judy C. Humphries of Fairforest, SC; three sisters, Della “Tince” Johnson of Boiling Springs, SC, Elsie Evans of Gaffney, SC, and Alma Peahuff of Cowpens, SC; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by one sister, Mary Lee Gossett; and two brothers, Jerry and Robert Peahuff.
The family wishes to thank Interim Hospice for all of their care and support.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2nd, 12:30-1:45pm at Dunbar Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at 2:15pm, officiated by Reverend Andy Case.
