Paul Eugene Orr

Spartanburg, SC- Paul E. Orr, 72, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014.Born August 1, 1941 in Hackensack, NJ, Paul was a son of the late William and Rose McGuire Orr. He honorably served his country in the US Army. Paul attended trade school where he became a mechanical contractor and became a member of the Plumber/Pipe Fitters local union 719 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He later moved to Gainesville, GA in 2002 and then to Spartanburg, SC to be closer to his children. Paul was the president of Fluid Mechanical, an avid member of the Republican Party, and an active member of the Nautilus Fitness Center. He was of the Catholic faith.Paul is survived by his son, Paul Orr, Jr. and his wife, Christy, of Gainesville, GA, and their children, Chris and Kelly Orr; his daughter, Christine Carver of Spartanburg, SC, and her son, Andrew Sloan; his brother, Kevin Orr and his wife, Karen, of Arizona; his former wife, Judy Orr; a close family friend, Stewart Burgess; and dear companion, Terrie Mann.Services will be held Friday, May 16th, 12noon at the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.In remembrance of Paul, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P O Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
