Elizabeth "Liz" Stinger O'Neal

Elizabeth “Liz” Stringer O’Neal Spartanburg, SC- Liz O’Neal, 86, loving wife of Adrian P. O’Neal, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Born September 25, 1927 in Mississippi, Liz was a daughter of the late John Lee and Damie Elizabeth Cole Stringer. She attended Gulfport High School and was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women. Liz and Adrian resided in Southern California for 40 years before moving to Huntsville, AL, then to Melbourne, FL, and finally to Spartanburg, SC to be closer to their family. Liz had a brief career as an administrative secretary and bookkeeper, but her favorite job was as co-director of the house. In addition to her husband of 65 years, Liz is survived by her daughter, Susan O. Jennings and her husband, Kevin, of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Michael O’Neal Jennings of San Diego, CA, Shannon Leigh Jennings of Park City, Utah, and Conor Patrick Jennings of Greenville, SC; and one sister, Cathy Thomas of Columbia, SC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 17th, 1:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Jim Goodrow.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Summit Hills in the Senate Lounge, 2:00-4:00pm.
