Spartanburg, SC- Joyce A. Nalley, 80, wife of W. Marvin Nalley, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 with her family by her side. Born June 19, 1933 in Kings Mountain, NC, Joyce was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Erma Jean Bennett Allen. She attended Parker High School, class of 1951, and married her high school sweetheart. Joyce retired from Hudson International after 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Easter Star, and a mother advisor for the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her son, Robert Nalley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three brothers, Mickey Allen and his wife, Ophelia, of Greenville, SC, Donald Allen and his wife, Harriett, of Simpsonville, SC, and Grady Allen and his wife, Debbie, of Columbia, SC; one sister, Barbara Allen Clark of Laurens, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by two sons, Ronald Nalley and Randy Nalley and his wife, Kathy Cash Nalley. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Spartanburg Regional Hospice; and also to Dorothy Ramano of Penbroke Pines, FL, and Susan Anderson of Fairforest, SC for their prayers, love, and support over the many years. The family welcomes relatives and friends Saturday, May 10th, 5:00-7:00pm at Dunbar Funeral Home. It was Joyce’s desire to have a private funeral and to be interred with her husband at his time of death. In remembrance of Joyce, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or to the charity of one’s choice.
