George Brock

George Brock Spartanburg – George Brock, 85, husband of the late Leatha Marie Brock, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. George was born on July 25, 1928 to the late Eli and Vinia Howard Brock. He faithfully served his country during WWII as a Private 1st Class in the US Army Air Corp. He retired from Detroit Steel after 30 years of service. George was a faithful member of the Dearborn Church of God, Dearborn Heights, MI, where he served as an Elder and building committee member. George is survived by four daughters, nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Riley, Stokely, Rhondal; and two sisters, Florine, and Jewel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM in the chapel, officiated by Reverend John Petty and Bishop Daryl Kerce. Interment with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 2, 2014 in the MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
