My brother Philip had a creative spirit and a joyful heart. A marvelous story teller, he charmed us all with entertaining accounts of his adventures. Please share your best “Philip stories” with us here. We will cherish them all. – Laurie Babb Barnett Greenville, SC- Philip J. Babb, age 53, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Born December 28, 1960 in Murphy, NC, Philip was the son of Phyllis Buchheit Delapp and the late Newton Jerue Babb. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Laurie Babb Barnett and her children, Katie, Sarah, and Andrew Barnett; his brother, Andrew M. Babb and his wife, Kitsy, and their children, Kathleen and Hannah Babb. The family welcomes friends to join them at the Piedmont Club on Wednesday, June 4th, 12:00noon, 361 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 Burial will be private in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by The Reverend Dr. Clay H. Turner. In remembrance of Philip, the family specifically requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
