Robert D. "Bob" Smith

Robert D. “Bob” Smith Spartanburg – Robert D. Smith, 80, husband of Arlene Allman Smith, died Sunday, June 08, 2014. Bob was born on April 27, 1934 to the late Horace Bomar and Mary Lou Simpson Smith. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Wanda Ann Smith of Spartanburg; two brothers, Frank Smith of Pauline, Paul Smith of Roebuck; two sisters, Mary Mullinax of Duncan, and Judy Lawson of Pauline. Bob was blessed with five grandchildren, Tanda Mathis, Bobby Mainville (Amanda Kay), Travis Smith, Amanda Erwood (Tommy), Joshua Smith; eleven great-grandchildren, Dalton, Haley, David, Joshua, Austin, Bradley, Abigail, Lucas, Blake, Brice, and Traycen. He was predeceased by a son, Larry Wayne Smith; two brothers, Horace Smith, Jr. and Harold Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Soup Kitchen; 136 S Forest St, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at the home of his daughter, Wanda Smith.
