Spartanburg, SC- Francis Paul Bottone, MD, of Aventura, Fl, Randolph, NJ and Spartanburg, SC died at the age of 88 on September 3, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Fondly called Frank, he was born on May 24, 1926 in the Bronx, NY to the late Antonio and Angela Mestice Bottone. He was raised in Newark, NJ, attended St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, NJ and graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Frank received his medical degree in 1955 from the University of Bologna Medical School, Italy. He completed his medical training at what is now known as UMDNJ, Rutger’s University. Frank was a practicing physician for forty years in Nutley, NJ and in Succasunna, NJ. He retired to Aventura, FL in 1996. “Doc” was school physician for both the Randolph Township and Morris Knolls districts and served as the Randolph Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriffs’ Department physician for many years. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Spartanburg, SC.
Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Ines Anna Maria Bottone; his daughter Patricia Angela Maria Bottone Randazzo, and his son-in law Patrick Anthony Randazzo of Randolph, NJ; his daughter, Dr. Susan Marie Bottone Boscia, and his son-in law, Dr. Joseph Anthony Boscia, III; and three grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Boscia, IV, Alyssa Christina Boscia, and Francis Paul Boscia, all of Spartanburg, SC and Charleston, SC. Also surviving is his beloved sister, Virginia Bottone Sutto, of Fairfax, VA.
He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Bottone of Fairfax, VA.
Frank will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.
