Dante Lamar “Dan” Huckeba Roebuck, SC- Dan Huckeba, 59, husband of Patricia Sherbert Huckeba, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Born November 24, 1954 in LaGrange, GA, Dan was a son of the late William Clarence and Thelma Strickland Huckeba. He was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1972, and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. Dan worked all his life in various sales positions in the Spartanburg area and was most known for school fundraising. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and was a devoted USC football fan. Dan was a member of Element Church in Woodruff, SC. In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his son, Ben Huckeba of Moore, SC; two brothers, Bill Huckeba of Dallas, TX and Jeff Huckeba (Carolyn) of Woodruff,SC; two nieces, Lydia Ureda (Kent) of Columbia, SC and Debbie Thompson (Ed) of Pawley’s Island, SC; a nephew, Bill Huckeba (Alicija) of Manchester, England; three great nieces; and his beloved dog, Jaxson. He was predeceased by his daughter, Anna Leigh Huckeba on June 23, 2012. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28th, 2:00-2:45PM at Element Church, 517 Cross Anchor Rd, Woodruff, SC 29388. A funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 3:00PM, officiated by Reverend Josh Bradley and Reverend Will Gunter. Marshall Morgan, Mike Kirkland, Roosevelt Miller, Ray Switzer, Brad Thigpen, and Doug Goodwin will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home. In remembrance of Dan, memorials may be made to Element Church, P O Box 388, Woodruff, SC 29388.
