Roebuck, SC – Anne L. Ross, 72, died peacefully at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Anne was born August 19, 1942 to the late Dr. Robert W. and Madolyn Leonard of Spartanburg, SC. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, class of 1960 and earned her BA degree from Limestone University, and completed her MA degree at Appalachian State University. Anne was a teacher and media specialist who taught in Atlanta, GA, Chester, SC, Rock Hill, SC, and West Columbia, SC. She finished her career as the media specialist at Woodland Heights Elementary School in Spartanburg. Anne was a member of Saint James United Methodist Church where she attended the Cannon’s Sunday school class. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
In addition to her husband, Jim W. Ross, she is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Blease Ross and his wife, Marsha Page Ross; two grandchildren, Madolyn Page and James Wyatt Ross; one sister, Jane Leonard of Goose Creek, SC; one brother, Robert W. Leonard, Jr. of Seattle, WA; and a nephew, Jim Leonard and his wife, Holly, and their children, Brodi and Anson.
The family would like to give their special thanks to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice staff and to Ms. Angela Coleman for their friendship and care during Anne’s long journey.
Receiving of friends will be held Friday, October 10th, 3:30-4:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 4:30PM in the Chapel.
Interment will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.
