Frances Renner Roberts

Spartanburg, SC- Frances Roberts, 82, wife of the late James Edward Roberts, went home to be with her Lord on Friday evening, October 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born April 21, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC, Frances was a daughter of the late C.L. and Pansey Renner and step daughter of the late Edna Renner. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and retired from Beaumont Mills after 39 years of service. Frances was a member of Solid Rock Church and a previous member of North Spartanburg Church of God for 43 years. Frances is survived by daughters, Edna “Sissy” Foy (Dick) of Salisbury, NC, Oley Lewis (Randy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Tonja Whalen of Boiling Springs, SC; a son, Eddie Roberts (Ann) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Lora Nicholson, Ronda Kirkman, Brent Womack, Brandon and Blake Lewis, Tyler Whalen, Jami Murray, and Heather Roberts; and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eloise Honeycutt and Ruth Norton. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19th, 4:00-6:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20th, 11:00AM at North Spartanburg Church of God, officiated by Reverend Larry Flippo, 2069 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In remembrance of Frances, memorials may be made to Solid Rock Church, 1326 Union Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
