Gerald Matthew "Matt" Taylor

Spartanburg, SC- Gerald Matthew Taylor, 29, husband of Kristi Morgan Taylor, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Born July 12, 1985 in Gadsden, AL, Matt was the son of Mark Stephen and Laneeca Dowdy Taylor. He graduated from Dorman High School, class of 2003. Matt was a loving father and centered his life around his family and children. He enjoyed playing and coaching little league baseball and was a member of Riding for Jesus Cowboy Church in Pacolet, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, Matt is survived by his sons, Evan Taylor and Gavon McSwain; daughter, Aschelynn Taylor; two sisters, Brooke Martin (Jacob) and Ashley Walters (Josh); and maternal grandmother, Bennie Dowdy, and paternal grandparents, Gerald and Margaret Taylor. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 29th, 11:00-12:00Noon at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 12:00PM, eastern time, officiated by Reverend Mitch Trammel. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 3rd, 1:00PM, central time, in Crestwood Memorial Gardens in Gadsden, AL.
