Carolyn Littlejohn Ballew

Spartanburg, SC- Carolyn Littlejohn Ballew, 78, beloved wife of James Forrest Ballew, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Carolyn was born September 16, 1936 in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Richard Erlic and Marion West Littlejohn. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, class of 1954 and attended Furman University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree. Carolyn was active in The Junior League of Spartanburg and the Spartanburg Little Theatre. She served on the board for Mobile Meals and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. In addition to her husband of 56 years, Carolyn is survived by daughter, Tracy Sorrells and her husband, Tim, of Greenville, SC and their children, Caleb and Amber Sorrells, Jordan and Sarah Kathryn Sorrells, and Emma and Taylor Nash; daughter, Lyn Brewer and her husband, Tully, of Spartanburg, SC and their children, Zach and Caroline Brewer, and Caroline and Thomas Turnbull; four great grandsons; and a sister, Dixie L. Pinson and her husband, Robert V. Pinson. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3rd, 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, officiated by Reverend Dr. Don Wilton. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Tim Sorrells, Caleb Sorrells, Jordan Sorrells, Taylor Nash, Tully Brewer, Zach Brewer, and Thomas Turnbull.
