Spartanburg, SC- Louis M. Weld, 82, husband of Elizabeth C. “Betty” Weld, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Born February 12, 1933 in Londonderry Township, PA, he was a son of the late Louis M. and Catherine M. Weld. Mike was a graduate of Duke University and was a U.S. Navy retired veteran. He was a professional Civil Engineer, worked at Piedmont Steel, and was owner and operator of Weld Engineering for many years until he retired.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth B. Weld; a brother, Edward J. Weld; and two sisters, Margaret W. Whelan and Marion W. Oviedo.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Devereux Weld, Catherine W. Harper, and Sarah W. Stultz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 14th, 11:00AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in the historic church.
Committal will be private.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Summit Hills for their care and support. A very special thank you to all of his caregivers over the last year.
