William Troy Hudson

November 24, 1942 — March 12, 2015

Clifton, SC- Troy Hudson, 72, husband of Rebecca H. Hudson, died Thursday, March 12, 2015. Born November 24, 1942 in Polk County, NC, Troy was a son of the late Cornelius Thomas and Annie Bell Pritchart Hudson. He was previously employed with Powder Craft, Inc, and retired from Progress Lighting after several years of service. Troy was currently employed with the Spartanburg County Recycle Center. He loved to work in his garden and spend time with his sons and grandchildren. Troy was a member of Restoration Church for over 20 years. In addition to his wife, Troy is survived by two sons, Eddie Hudson (Theresa) of Mayo, SC and Samuel James Osment (Tricia) of Cowpens, SC; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven brothers, Larry Hudson (Brenda) of Inman, SC, Chester Hudson (Becky) of New Prospect, SC, Ray Hudson (Becky) of Columbus, NC, Wayne Hudson of Inman, SC, Randy Hudson (Anita) Green Creek, NC, Terry Hudson (Marilyn), and Ben Hudson, both of Mill Spring, NC; and four sisters, Doris McDade (Louis) of Mill Spring, NC, Patricia McDaniel (Tim) of Forest City, NC, Robin Smith (Richard) of Tryon, NC, and Tammy Waldrop (Neal) of Mill Spring, NC. Troy was predeceased by two sons, Troy Dean and Robert Lee Hudson; and a daughter, Sandra Lyn Fowler. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 14th, 6:00-8:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 15th, 1:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Stephen Burns. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In remembrance of Troy, memorials may be made to the Joe R. Utley Heart Resource Center, 101 E. Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
