Allen C. "Butch" Justice

Spartanburg, SC- Allen (Butch) C. Justice, 69, died March 19, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center surrounded by his beloved family and friends after a short illness. Born in Spartanburg, SC on September 27, 1945, he was the son of James Luther and Myrtle Pollard Justice, both of whom preceded him in death. A lifelong citizen of Spartanburg, he spent the early years of his professional life as owner of Artex Dry cleaners and later retired from Thompson Brothers in 2007. Living on the 8th green at The Creek Golf Club, he was considered the ambassador of Wedgewood Circle where he spent his days riding on his golf cart with his canine companion, Lucy. Butch was a member of The Creek golf course and enjoyed playing golf in the Saturday morning dogfight for over 25 years, where he earned the nickname Czar from his close friends. Butch loved spending time with his wife of 51 years as well as his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his retirement years playing golf with his brother, Sonny, and his daily games with his golf crew, Sam, Bill, Ron, Mike, and many others. Husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, he is survived by his wife, Glenice Justice of Spartanburg; his children, Tandy (Shell) Blackwell of Spartanburg, Todd (Shannon) Justice of Greenville, and Toby Justice of Spartanburg; his brother, Sonny (Judy) Justice of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Katie (Jay) Seay, Tyler (Chelsea) Blackwell, Cory Justice, Cole Justice, Anna Kate Justice, and Ally Justice; and two great-grandchildren, Landon Seay and Drake Wilson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Justice McCullough; and brother, Jerry Justice. His family and friends will miss his funny jokes and good natured spirit as well as his loving guidance throughout their lives. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 21st, 4:00-6:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 22nd, 2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Raymond A. Hellings. A private burial will immediately follow the service.
